Thank you, @wenhammuseum , for the warm welcome and for introducing me to the Icelandic tradition of Jolabokaflod (book flood).

On the morning of December 9, 1945, just one day before her husband was scheduled to return home for the holidays, Beatrice Ayer received the phone call she had dreaded throughout the war.

The best inspiration is being able to visit the places you are writing about.

Looking forward to taking “Lady of the Army” to the Wenham Museum’s first-ever Book Flood on Sunday, December 10 from 12 – 4 p.m.!
